Their feud should ramp up when a promotion becomes available, but instead Lucy starts realizing maybe there’s more to Josh than she originally thought.

Lucy and Josh are forced to work together daily as executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company, Bexley & Gamin. Joshua Templeman is abrasive, uptight, and feared. Lucy Hutton is kind, fun, and easy going. **cover art: 4/5 stars. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne – Book Review. Arch enemies to lovers? Yes, it’s a tale told one too many times but not as enjoyable as this one. Josh had to confess first but the point is, no flowers and romantic dinners were needed to make the moment remarkable. Lucy realizes her feelings and immediately felt scared but nonetheless told Josh about it in a rather simple bedroom conversation. Being a romantic novel, readers would naturally expect grand romantic gestures that could one up the most epic one yet but here, we get it as original and real as it could get. I also love the simplicity in the way the author approached character realizations and confessions. It felt attainable unlike some novels that were astoundingly amazing but you know in your heart isn’t real. It was romance but it had a very realistic and believable air about it. You can imagine it happening in real life. The book is written really well that the scenarios felt so natural. This makes me want to check out the author’s other works, hoping that I get the same leisurely experience. I thoroughly enjoyed Josh and Lucy’s banters–something I have missed in my reading selections. MY REVIEW: 4 of 5 stars to The Hating Game by Sally Thorne ★★★★ Now up for the same promotion, their battle of wills has come to a head and Lucy refuses to back down when their latest game could cost her her dream job…But the tension between Lucy and Joshua has also reached its boiling point, and Lucy is discovering that maybe she doesn’t hate Joshua.

Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy’s overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and Pollyanna attitude.

Lucy can’t understand Joshua’s joyless, uptight, meticulous approach to his job. And they have no problem displaying their feelings through a series of ritualistic passive aggressive maneuvers as they sit across from each other, executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company. Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman hate each other. “The trick is to find that one person who can give it back as good as they can take it.”ġ) An opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome Title: The Hating Game Author: Sally Thorne Series: N/A Genre: Contemporary Romance Published: August 9th 2016 Rating: 4/5 stars ★★★★
